Hours: Friday and Saturday: 11:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m.; Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 11:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; Closed Monday (except Holiday Mondays.)

Location: Ground floor, with access from the first floor behind the Medieval Hall and from the second floor at the rear of the European Paintings galleries. Download a Floor Plan (PDF).

Details: This comfortable, bright space offers self-service dining. The menu includes an extensive selection of hot entrées, grilled and cold sandwiches, salads, sushi, snacks, and desserts for lunch, snacks, and dinner. See a sample menu. Booster seats and high chairs are available, as are special New York City Taxi Cab Kids Meals.

Petrie Court Café and Wine Bar ($$)
Hours: Friday and Saturday: 9:30 a.m.–10:30 p.m. (last seating at 8:30 p.m.) Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; Afternoon tea begins at 2:30 p.m.; Closed Monday (except Holiday Mondays).

Details: Set against the backdrop of Central Park, this European-style restaurant serves à-la-carte lunch and Sunday brunch and transforms into a sophisticated, intimate wine bar on Friday and Saturday evenings. The lunch and brunch menu features hot and cold entrées, salads, and desserts. The Wine Bar menu features small plates of international cuisine, artisanal cheeses, entrées, desserts, and local, domestic, and imported wines. Daily afternoon tea and continental breakfast are also available. See sample menus.

Balcony Café ($)
The American Wing Café has temporarily moved to the Great Hall Balcony on the second floor. Download a Floor Plan (PDF). Known as the Balcony Café, this lovely space offers salads, sandwiches, snacks, desserts, and coffee overlooking the majestic Great Hall. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 11:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Hours: May through late fall, weather permitting: Friday and Saturday: 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.; Martini Bar: 5:30–8:00 p.m.; Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 10:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; Closed Mondays.

Location: Fifth floor via the elevator in the European Sculpture and Decorative Arts Galleries. Download a Floor Plan (PDF).

Details: Self-service, light fare and cocktails in an informal, outdoor setting with panoramic views of Manhattan. Children are welcome. See a sample menu.

Balcony Bar ($$)

Details: Waiters serve appetizers and cocktails from our full bar, accompanied by live classical music. See a sample menu. Not appropriate for children.

Note: During the temporary closure of the American Wing Café, the Balcony Café will offer a selection of salads, sandwiches, snacks, desserts, and coffee, Tuesday through Sunday, 11:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.

Hours: May through October: Tuesday–Sunday: 10:00 a.m.–4:15 p.m.; Closed Mondays.

Details: Self-service sandwiches, snacks, dessert, cold beverages, and coffee served outdoors under the covered arcades and walkway of the medieval French Trie Cloister. See a sample menu. Children are welcome.

Details: Full waiter service of contemporary American cuisine in a sophisticated, elegant setting with expansive views of Central Park. Experience the fine art of dining at the Museum for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. Each month, chef Fred Sabo prepares a four-course tasting menu highlighting a different domestic or international cuisine. In addition to our extensive wine list, the Trustees Dining Room now offers a reserve wine list to complement your meal. See sample menus or learn more about our chefs.

Membership: The Trustees Dining Room is open at all times to Museum Members at the President's Circle, Patron Circle, Patron, Sponsor, Donor, Contributing, Sustaining, and Friend levels. During the summer, Members at the Associate, Individual, and Family/Dual levels are invited to the Trustees Dining Room for Friday and Saturday dinner and weekend brunch (May through September). Details: This antique-filled suite with ample, luxurious, and quiet seating areas provides a panoramic view of Central Park and beyond. Full waiter service of coffee, tea, and cocktails is offered during regular hours. A special light fare menu is available Friday and Saturday after 4:30 p.m. and afternoon tea is served Tuesday–Sunday, 2:30–4:00 p.m. (by reservation only). Children are welcome.
